Clean, and then blot with a white towel dampened with water. Allow the area to dry completely before wearing again.

For oily stains, sprinkle the stain with cornstarch or talcum powder to absorb the oil. Allow it to stand for a few hours, and then brush or vacuum away.

For sweat stain odors, deodorize the band with baking soda before cleaning the sweat stains with other treatments. Sprinkle baking soda on the hat band and allow to sit for 24 hours. Brush or vacuum baking soda from the band, and then proceed to treat sweat stains with the hydrogen peroxide or ammonia methods to remove sweat stains.
